Those Painkiller Cocktails live up to their name. This cocktail is certainly one in all my preferred warm climate drinks! It’s easy to make and is an less difficult, lower preservation version of the Pina Colada- however no blender required! A traditional mixture of coconut, rum, orange and pineapple juice is typically used, however in this situation I used a ready-made Pineapple Orange juice mixture.

The Painkiller Drink


  • 3 oz. pineapple-orange juice
  • 1 oz. creme de coconut
  • 4 oz rum
  • ice
  • nutmeg
  • toasted coconut, optional for garnish


  1. In a cocktail shaker, combine the rum, juice and coconut with ice. Shake vigorously to mix, then pour into a cocktail glass. Sprinkle with nutmeg and serve.
