Homemade store cheese Biscuit Sausage, this transportable breakfast has sausage and cheese baked right into the soft and scaly biscuit.

Breakfast is my favorite food. i do not apprehend if it's as a result of i am a morning person or as a result of i am a pity bear in mind the good family breakfast on weekends growing up. Maybe, it is a little bit of each.

For this reason, we've an outsized home-cooked family breakfast on weekends. we've a mix of home-cured biscuits, waffles, or pancakes, with bacon or sausages, eggs, and sauces. Sometimes, after I arrange to a tolerable degree, I build a coffee roll that's my favorite.

Their family favorite breakfast created ME think about the method that I may build one thing similar throughout the week. So, I mixed sausage and cheese into home-cured biscuits!

The most superb breakfast biscuits ever! Loaded with slices of freshly crushed sausages, sharp cheese and inexperienced onions, if desired. you'll need this for breakfast each morning!

  • 1 pound pork sausage cooked and drained
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter salted or unsalted, cut into small cubes
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • 2 tablespoons green onions sliced, green part only

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Grease a baking pan.
  2. Cook and drain sausage.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Add the butter and, using a pastry cutter, fork, or your fingers, cut the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture has pea-sized crumbs. Stir in the sausage and cheese (and green onions if you're adding them.)
  5. Add the buttermilk and combine. I find it easiest to use a fork to gently stir the mixture until all of the dry ingredients are moistened. Then, use your hands to knead the mixture a few times in the bowl to bring the dough together.
  6. Turn the dough out onto a parchment-lined counter and pat into an 8x10-inch rectangle. Cut the dough into 12 squares.
  7. Transfer the biscuits to the baking pan, leaving 1-inches between each biscuit. Brush the tops of each biscuit with the melted butter.
  8. Bake until the biscuits are golden brown, about 18 to 20 minutes.
